Praise God in the highest. I read an article once, arguing how can God be everywhere at all times? The writer said God is not everywhere and so he does not know everything.
Lets look at the passages for reference:
In Matthew 6:9 Jesus spoke “Our Father, which are in heaven..“ The passage says God is in heaven, a place where he dwells. He is not in some other place but in heaven.
Psalms 14:2 – “The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.”
Why would God search if He already knows everything? Would you search for something if you already knew where it was? Can you learn something that you already know? When people are about to die in an accident, would God not know beforehand and prevent the accident from happening?
How then can we understand that God is God, if he is not everywhere and he does not know everything? Do these verses really meant what is said? Do these passages make God less powerful than what we thought about the Creator of the world?
I listed the first passages from the book of John (verse 1 ) to at least find some light to this matter. The passage says “In the beginning was the Word”, though John wrote them, the words are divine. The rest of the passage says, “and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Who knows what was, before time even existed? What was or who was in existence before the beginning? I can see proof that God always existed, He has no beginning or end, but “time” has. John was not qualified to testify something he has no account to, but God because he was, before the existence of time – practically God invented time. If I were to say we are going to be more fruitful this 2019 than the previous year. I have a point of reference which is 2018, I have account of last year’s events. So to say, In the beginning was God – I would understand that God is not bound by time, and that God is in control of time. He can go anywhere at anytime – practically God is everywhere? As the Psalmist says in Psalm 139:7-12
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me. If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,” Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day Darkness and light are alike to You”
I find the Word amazing and full of wonder. Praise God in the highest!
